Unity Goodness!

Hola, hope everyone's Summer is going great. Any plans for this weekend? Hope so. We have a weekend planned of staying in town, our tradition is that we go to a big PowWow that is put on very close by. That's Saturday. It's BIG and the fireworks are GRAND to say the least, they do it both nights of the weekend before the 4th. Most counties in our area have cut down a lot on fireworks and celebrations :-( due to the economy, private richies have actually pitched in to help out, which I think is REALLY cool and Patriotic. So on Monday we'll be finding a cool place to watch those. In my opinion it doesn't matter how old you get, fireworks are AWESOME. It's INSANELY hot here so hopefully nobody passes out! LOL

I have an exciting card to share with you. Oh, yeah it's exciting. It's my first Unity card that I share. The truth is that I ordered my first Unity stamps as a grab bag to test them out and see how it went. Well, let me tell you I LOVE THEM! I fell in love and after that I got the Kit of the Month for my Birthday (Yay hubby). You can see for yourself here . No I don't work for Unity they are just REALLY good stamps. They stamp a really clear image with various types of inks, they seem to clean off well too. Don't know what that means but they do, the rubber seems a little thicker. Since then I've ordered several other things from them and have them stamped and colored but not put together yet.

I made this card with this  Kit of the Month from March. The stickers are Crafty Secrets, Ribbon is American Crafts, the flower is Prima, Patterned Paper is DCWV, Cardstocks are Coordinations (Grandpa's trunk), Wausau Papers, Cuttlebug embossing folder victoria, button is vintage, inks are Ranger antique linen and tea dye, gold Tsukineko Brilliance pigment ink.
Hope you enjoy it, have a great 4th of July and stay safe. Until next time Amigas.

Pinata Card

I have been looking at the materials to make this card sitting on this desk FOREVER. In my mind it was going to be a little plain and boring but I have to tell you I LOVE it! The Pinata is a sticker that I foam mounted, and the twine looks so cool in person. The sentiment is embossed with a really cool prismatic red embossing powder. I have several types if twine, the one is a really rough thick one from Home Depot. Yeah, I scout out crafty stuff while my husband is torturing me at Home Depot.  It puts a smile on my face, LOL!

I haven't posted in a very long while. Lots going on here as usual. Right now I have been sick the last 10 days. First one of the worst cold I've ever had, now a sinus and ear infection. I have to tell you that when Mom isn't up and running the whole house is in chaos. My little family knew that it was serious business if I wasn't after them about keeping the house tidy (they would call it nagging) LOL. Still all of you can relate that the laundry still got done, everyone got driven to school, and there was still food in the kitchen and dinner made. I am grateful I didn't run into anyone I know during one of my sweatpants wearing, hair in ponytail, no make up, red nosed grocery store runs. Yes, I'm a total spaz.

Anyway today is the last day of school! That means I will be able to sleep in until 7:30! I still have a husband to see off and dogs to take out. The twins turned 16 during my blog absence. Yes, I am the proud Momma of 16 year old twins now (eeek). They are still my babies and in my eyes I see 5 year old little girls that hold each other's hand to walk into their classroom together. Then they remind me that they are 16 and teenagers (grrrr). But that's okay, all part of the growing process right?

So here is my cards for today I have many and will be sharing a few over the next few days. The first one is once again one of my favorites. I made a version of this to sell but it was very girly had seam binding and a button. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of it but once I make it again I will post it. I thought this one would be good for a male of female. Hard for me to make non-girly fluffy cards so I am happy how it came out. Don't know if you can tell but the background is scored with my Martha score board and distressed it with my fancy Tim Holtz tool (love it!).

Second is a very girlie birthday card I made using my Wild Card cartridge. I got my hot little hands on Wild Card a couple of months ago for like $17 at Target on clearance and was ecstatic. Also the sentiment is TPC a stamp company that really never caught my eye but I have to tell you they are doing some really cute stamps for card makers. You can pick these up at Joann's. The sticker is Martha Stewart. To say pretty much everything she puts out in her paper crafting sticker line is awesome is an understatement.

Thanks so much for looking at my little creations. Until next time Amigas.
